【Unique Gift Idea】Your name in Japanese calligraphy

I can’t believe November is around the corner! Have you started thinking about gift ideas to your loved one?

How about their names in Japanese calligraphy?

Noah in Hiragana
John in Hiragana

I will write your name either in Hiragana or Katakana.

Usually your name will be written in Katakana since you are from the western culture.

But I like shapes of Hiragana so much and I offer to write your name in Hiragana as well.

Your name will be written in Japanese (Hiragana, not Katakana). Original calligraphy art work by Japanese artist Mio.

For your reference the Japanese language has three different alphabets.
1) Hiragana (48 letters) :
This alphabet is usually used for everyday writing along with Kanji. It is usually not used for names, but I use it in my art because I like the artistic nature of the characters.

2) Katakana (48 letters):
Katakana is usually used for foreign words, including names of westerners. On request, I can create art with Katakana if that is preferred.

3) Kanji (2,136 characters): Kanji characters are borrowed from China. Japanese names are usually written in Kanji, and each character represents a different meanings. For example, Mio can be written, 美生 where the Mi(美) means “beautiful” and the O(生)means “Life.”

it will be VERY unique gifts.

Each art piece will be created with Sumi ink on watercolor paper.
