Japanese Language Classes
Our Japanese language program includes Beginning Japanese Courses 1–6, designed to help students build their skills step by step.
Beginning Japanese Course 1
Start with the basics of Japanese. Learn hiragana, greetings, self-introductions, simple questions and answers, basic adjectives, and useful Japanese for shopping and getting around Japan. Japanese culture, food, anime, and everyday life are also introduced throughout the course.

Beginning Japanese Course 2
Continue building your foundation while learning katakana, basic verbs, particles, numbers, time, dates, and everyday expressions. Practice talking about routines, family, preferences, and activities while exploring Japanese transportation, table manners, seasonal events, and other cultural topics.

Beginning Japanese Course 3
Learn to talk more about places, people, daily activities, and past experiences. This course introduces basic kanji, past-tense verbs, describing locations, daily schedules, adjectives, and more conversational practice, along with Japanese customs and everyday life.

Beginning Japanese Course 4
Expand your ability to describe experiences and express what you want to do. Learn different adjective forms and the important te-form of Japanese verbs, including how to make requests, connect actions, and ask for permission. Cultural topics include onsen, festivals, rakugo, anime, and seasonal traditions.

Beginning Japanese Course 5
Develop more natural and detailed conversation skills. Learn how to describe people and ongoing actions, explain how something is done, connect adjectives and nouns, talk about purposes and intentions, count people, express giving and receiving, and use short-form Japanese to share thoughts and reported speech.

Beginning Japanese Course 6
Continue developing conversational Japanese with more advanced short forms and everyday expressions. Practice talking about activities, schedules, opinions, and past events, and learn how to express what someone thought or said. Japanese art and culture are also incorporated into the lessons.
